Spring in The Hill County...Tips from the locals

Spring in The Hill County...Tips from the locals

Spring has officially sprung in Dripping Springs, TX, and that means two things: breathtaking wildflowers and the absolute need for a wardrobe refresh. Whether you're road-tripping out here for the iconic bluebonnets, TX Peach Bellini at Summer Revival, or planning a brunch stop at Hays City Store (because let’s be real, their queso is life-changing), you’ll want an outfit that’s as fresh as the Texas Hill Country itself.

So, let’s talk spring style—effortless, fun, and totally Instagram-worthy. Here’s how to dress for every springtime adventure in Drip, straight from our latest lookbook!

🌼 For the Wildflower Stroll & Photo Ops

You came for the bluebonnets, and you’re not leaving without the perfect shot. A flowy floral dress is your best friend—breezy, feminine, and ideal for twirling dramatically in a field of wildflowers. Bonus points if you pair it with a wide-brim hat for that extra “I woke up like this” energy.  We've got both.

👉 Where to go: Hit up the wildflower trails at Westcave Preserve for some seriously dreamy views.  Of course, any back road will get you those spots too.

Best time for Wildflowers:  Mid March-Mid April.

🛍 For a Day of Boutique Hopping & Wine Tasting

Let’s be honest, shopping is cardio. Whether you’re popping into your fave local boutiques (hey, that’s us!) or hopping over to Texas Hill Country Olive Co. for an olive oil tasting, you need a ‘fit that’s comfy and cute. A relaxed blouse with wide-leg denim or a structured blazer over a classic tee keeps things effortlessly stylish. Finish with comfy slides because we don’t do blisters here.

👉 Where to go: Driftwood Estate Winery for stunning vineyard views and a glass of Tempranillo.

🍹 For a Laid-Back Patio Happy Hour

When the sun’s setting and the Texas heat finally chills out, it’s time to grab a cocktail. A lightweight romper or an elevated tank-and-skirt combo is your go-to for a casual but put-together look. Gold layered jewelry? Always a yes in our book!  Throw in a woven tote to stash your sunnies, and you’re good to go.  We've got both.

👉 Where to go: Summer Revival Wine Co. for the coolest natural wines, or Camp Lucy’s Tillie’s for cocktails that taste as good as they look.  The views are stunning too...but get a reservation, you'll need it!

🎶 For a Live Music Night Under the Stars

Dripping Springs + live music = the perfect Hill Country vibe. A pop of color (hello, green blazer moment) or a fun statement top with vintage-wash denim is the move. Add in some gold hoops and grab a woven clutch—because yes, you’re that effortlessly cool.

👉 Where to go: We love Hays City Store for the best live music and twinkling lights under the majestic oaks....just be prepared for a wait at times...the locals love it too.
